Michael is a singer, songwriter, producer and actor- based in New York City. 

 

His musical life draws upon a wide variety of styles and influences, including pop, rock, folk, electronica, and jazz. Critics have described his sophisticated blend of artistry as “masterful” and “a breath of fresh air.”  His official discography includes four albums of original music:  What is True? The Night Traveler, Shotgun, and City Scrapes, as well as several EP's, singles and live recordings.

 

In 2011 Michael released City Scrapes, a critically praised collection of songs inspired by the NYC Brill Building songwriters scene. Co-produced with Ron Allaire,  City Scrapes was recorded and mixed at various iconic NYC recording studios and embodies the warmth of the classic songwriter albums of yesteryear. It also features a supporting band with shared experience playing alongside everyone from Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone, to Elton John, Carole King and Gavin DeGraw. In 2013 he released the popular single First Time.

Michael's 2019 single, The Lights of Mystery, was produced by Devin Greenwood and recorded at Honey Jar Studios in Brooklyn, NY.  It features cover art by artist/film director Darren LeGallo

 

In 2021 he released, It Means Beautiful, a single produced by Devin Greenwood and composed by Dan Sells (The Feeling) for the hit West End musical and Amazon Studios film "Everybody's Talking About Jamie." 

 

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of his album City Scrapes, in 2022 he released a special 4 song EP 42nd St. Hymn.

 

His latest single Follow The Light was again produced by Devin Greenwood and features a music video produced by Tim LeGallo and directed by Roy De La Maza.

 

Born in St. Louis, MO, and raised in Southern Illinois, Michael made his professional singing debut at the age of twelve. He attended Emerson College in Boston, The Boston Conservatory, and holds an MA in Performance Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Throughout his varied career he has performed with rock bands and symphony orchestras, in coffee houses and concert halls, appeared Off-Broadway and toured Europe. Michael's creative vision has also been expressed in the mediums of acting, visual art, commercial music, and voice overs.

He is also a distinguished teaching artist and performance coach whose clients include Broadway actor/singers, corporate executives, rock musicians, and young performing arts professionals. Michael is a proud member of BMI, SAG-AFTRA, Actor’s Equity, and Performance Studies internationaI.
